The social determinants of health, explained
The US Department of Health and Human Services defined the social determinants of health (SDOH) as the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks.
At Lebanon Needs, we believe that a reliable access to quality healthcare services, nutritious food, and decent housing is necessary to achieve optimal health and well-being, and we aim to address these SDOH in Lebanon at a time where a confluence of crises has dramatically deteriorated both public and private services in the country.
We currently focus on building a more accessible and affordable healthcare system across the country as this pressing need is largely overlooked by mainstream civic efforts.
Total expenditure on health as a percentage of GDP: 6.4%
33.7 hospital beds per 10,000 people

We have developed a proprietary process to identify and assist patients in needs and are currently deploying a home-based healthcare program to better cater to chronically ill patients and patients with mobility limitations across Lebanon.
